I have this product for about a month now in possession and are very satisfied. The images are crystal clear and up-conversion for standard DVDs, which makes them even better. I had originally inserted directly into the TV (LG 47 "47LH40), but now I have it with my receiver (Denon AVR-1909), together with my TiVo HD DVR. Of course, I'm just this link via HDMI. I have a 5.1 surround system (currently Sony Polk Audio speakers with subwoofer), and sound absolutely incredible. Pioneer is disappointing, known for their high quality and the sound of the non-reader!

Wow, I owned $ 1000 recorder and the so called top range DVD players, but the Sony 550 Blu-ray is by far the best purchase I've ever made.It was easy to connect and on-screen menu were easy to navigate. 1080p is fantastic and the digital sound is fantastic. Amazon has made it easy to buy and I really appreciated that.I recommend this player at any one.Also I will tell my friends about this purchase.

I got this Blu Ray player for about 4 months before she did not play Blu Ray. I called the support (actually Funai Corp.) and get a UPS. It 'been there about 6 weeks and my last call to them revealed that they will be able to say when they can be replaced until they have had for 2 months. Rep told me that their program of rapid exchange.
Not recommend the purchase.
